Course Overview

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty in line with first aid guidelines determined by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and other Australian national peak clinical bodies.

The unit applies to all persons who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.

Upon successful completion, you will receive a Statement of Attainment for the following units of competency:

Entry Requirements

There are no formal prerequisites for this course, but participants should have basic English language, literacy, and numeracy skills.

You must be physically capable of performing CPR on a manikin placed on the floor for a continuous period of 2 minutes. This is a mandatory requirement for course completion. If you have any mobility concerns or a disability that may impact your ability to participate in practical components, please contact us before enrolling to discuss available support.

This course includes a mandatory online learning module that must be completed before your scheduled class date. Students who do not complete the e-Learning in advance will not be permitted to attend the face-to-face training and will not be issued certification.

A computer and reliable internet connection are required to access the online content.

International students are welcome, and the minimum age to enrol in Human Resource Training’s First Aid courses is 13 years.
