There are two PROVISIONAL licences in Tasmania. The “Security general guarding” Provisional licence and the “Crowd Control” Provisional licence. Both are 5 units of study.
If you wish to be granted a Provisional licence for both the General Guarding & Crowd Control areas, then seven (7) units of study need to be completed prior to applying for the licence.
Participants will be issued a “Statement of Attainment” for the 5 or 7 units as partial completion of the Certificate II in Security operations (CPP20212).
The remainder of units for the issue of a full licence must be completed within 12 months.
The issue of a full security licence in Tasmania requires the completion of 16 units of study for a general unarmed guard licence and 21 units for a licence to be able to do Crowd Control work.
