Recognition of Prior Learning at HR Training
At Human Resource Training, we believe that your experience and prior learning should be valued. Our Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) process allows you to gain formal recognition for the skills and knowledge you’ve acquired through work experience, informal training, and previous study. This can fast-track your qualification, saving you time and money.
What is Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)?
RPL is an assessment process that evaluates your existing skills, knowledge, and experience against the requirements of a specific qualification. Whether you’ve learned on the job, through community work, or via other informal education, RPL can help you gain credits towards a formal qualification.
Benefits of RPL
- Save Time: Complete your qualification faster by having your prior learning recognized.
- Cost-Effective: Reduce the number of units you need to study, lowering the overall cost of your course.
- Career Advancement: Use your formal qualification to open doors for promotions or new job opportunities.
- Boost Confidence: Gain acknowledgment for the skills and expertise you’ve already developed in your career.
Who Can Apply for RPL?
RPL is ideal for individuals who have:
- Extensive work experience in their industry.
- Completed informal training or workplace education.
- Acquired skills through volunteering or community service.
The RPL Process
- Initial Consultation: Contact our RPL team to discuss your background, experience, and career goals. We will help you determine whether you are eligible for RPL.
- Evidence Collection: You’ll need to gather evidence of your prior learning. This may include:
- Job descriptions or employment history
- References from employers
- Work samples or portfolios
- Certificates of completed training
- Performance appraisals or workplace reports
- Assessment: Our qualified assessors will review your evidence to determine if it meets the competencies required for your chosen qualification. If gaps in your knowledge are identified, we’ll provide advice on additional learning to bridge those gaps.
- Outcome: Once your RPL assessment is complete, you’ll receive a formal qualification or partial credits toward a qualification, depending on the results.
